ATLANTA– Shootings at 2 massage parlors in Atlanta and one in the suburban areas left 8 individuals dead, much of them ladies of Asian descent, authorities stated Tuesday. A 21-year-old male was apprehended in southwest Georgia hours later on after a manhunt.
Atlanta Cops Chief Rodney Bryant said 3 people were eliminated at a health club in northeast Atlanta, while a 4th individual was eliminated at another medical spa across the street. He said all 4 victims were female, and “It appears that they might be Asian.”
Atlanta policeman reacting to a call of a robbery in development at one health spa around 5:50 p.m. discovered 3 ladies dead from evident gunshot injuries, cops stated. While they were at that scene, they found out of a call reporting shots fired at another medical spa across the street and found a woman who appeared to have actually been shot dead inside business.
Previously, around 5 p.m., five individuals were shot at Youngs Asian Massage Parlor in Acworth, about 30 miles (50 kilometers) north of Atlanta, Cherokee County Constable’s Workplace representative Capt. Jay Baker stated. 2 of the victims were dead and three were carried to a health center where two of them also died, Baker stated.
Authorities were not immediately launching the gender or race of the victims, Baker stated.
A male believed in the Acworth shooting was caught by surveillance video bring up to business around 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, minutes before the shooting, authorities said. Baker stated the suspect, Robert Aaron Long, of Woodstock, was nabbed in Crisp County, about 150 miles (240 kilometers) south of Atlanta.
Baker stated they believe Long is also the suspect in the Atlanta shootings.
With two shootings at massage parlors in Atlanta and the knowledge of the Acworth shooting, Atlanta authorities said they dispatched officers to examine neighboring comparable businesses and increased patrols in the area.
